Introduction:

With the advent of the digital age, journalism has evolved dramatically from its print origins to digital journalism, where the rise of the internet and social media has transformed how news is produced and consumed. Print journalism, once the dominant medium, offered in-depth reporting and slower news cycles. However, with the advent of digital platforms, news became accessible in
real-time, and social media further accelerated the speed of dissemination, enabling stories to reach global audiences instantly.
The rise of smartphones and mobile technology has given birth to mobile journalism (mojo), allowing journalists to capture, edit, and distribute news directly from their mobile devices. Today, channels like Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube facilitate quick updates, visual storytelling,
and live-streaming, while podcasts and mobile news apps cater to on-the-go audiences.
This course will provide the participants with an overview of the digital journalism world, exploring the current scenario and seeing what it is required to be a digital journalist. Participants will try their hand at visual and written storytelling and audience engagement, and round out the training with content on journalism ethics and fake news.
